The three-day Ranji Trophy East Zone match between host Orissa and Bihar ended in a dull draw at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. However, Bihar collected 10 points for taking first-innings lead, while Orissa settled with eight points.
Half-century each by Pradeep Khanna, captain Hari Gidwani and stumper Syed Saba Karim helped Bihar make a healthy total of 313 after they won the toss and opted to bat. Among Orissa bowlers, Sourajit Mohapatra and Sushil Kumar Prasad scalped five and four wickets respectively.
In reply, Orissa rode on a half-ton each by captain Asjit Jayaprakasham and Abinasha Khatua to muster 249. After taking a 64-run first-innings lead, Bihar declared their second innings at 70 for one to set before the home team a victory target of 135. Orissa were 54 for no wicket in their second innings when the match ended in draw. Praharaj claimed his 100th First-Class wicket in this match.
