Orissa completed 100 matches in Ranji Trophy with a draw against Assam at North-East Frontier Railway Stadium in Guwahati today. But Orissa gained 12 points by virtue of taking first-innings lead in this three-day East Zone match, while host Assam settled with eight points.
The 100 matches, starting from December 1949, featured 33 against Bengal, 31 each against Bihar and Assam, 2 against Tripura and 1 each against Bombay, Rajasthan and Karnataka. The 100 matches include 12 wins, 54 defeats and 34 draws.
Orissa allrounder Swapan Mitra stole the show in their centenary match, scoring a half-century and taking three wickets in the first innings. Opting to bat, Assam made 238, while Orissa replied with 260 for seven declared. Assam were 152 for three in their second innings at stumps on the final day.
