Cuttack asserted its supremacy in the State Under-9 Chess Championship with Nishit Mohanty and Adyasha Patnaik winning the boys` and girls` titles respectively at the Secretariat Recreation Club here on Wednesday.
In the six-round tournament, Nishit topped the table with 5.5 points, half a point ahead of Jajpur boy Rakesh Kumar Jena, who finished runner-up.
In the girls` title race, Adyasha edged out local challenger Sribinda Rout by virtue of higher progressive score after both players tied with five points apiece.
