Hosts Odisha bagged a treble by winning boys under-16 singles, doubles and under-12 singles titles in the TAB-AITA-OTA Talent Series Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex in Bhubaneswar today.
Top seed Debasis Sahoo won the U-16 singles title when he defeated Odisha statemate Yashraj Nayak in the final 6-1, 6-2. Boys U-12 title was captured by second seed Akshant Beuria who upset top seed and statemate Aditya Bikram Acharya in the final 6-1, 6-2.
Kaamlesh Rath and Yashraj Nayak won the boys U-16 doubles crown, getting the better of their Odisha opponents Debasis Sahoo and Stevan Ankit Ekka 6-4, 6-4 in the summit clash. Winner and runners-up gained 15 and 12 points respectively.
A total of 45 players from eastern zone states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha participated in the tournament, which was organised by Tennis Association of Bhubaneswar (TAB), under the aegis of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA).
TAB Secretary Bijay Kumar Sahoo gave away the trophies in presence of Tournament Director B K Das, Tournament Referee Jatin Batsya and OTA Manager Prakash Pattnaik.
