Odisha girl Nemha Sarah Kispotta won her maiden international title when she, partnering with Namrata Das (Assam) emerged doubles champions in the Asian 14 & Under Series Tennis Championship at in Jorhat, Assam yesterday.
Nemha and Namrata defeated Ridhi Choudhary Poka and Jyoshitha Suresh Kumar Amutha in the final 6-1, 7-6(8). In singles event, Nemha finished ninth after getting the better of former India U-12 No 1 Ika Raju Kanumuri 4-1, 1-4, 4-2.
This was the career-best success for Kendriya Vidyalaya student Nemha, whose previous best was a double crown at the AITA-OTA Talent Series Tournament, held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from 9 to 13 July, 2018.
Nemha is the daughter of Jacob and Amarmani Kispotta of Mundali, Cuttack and takes coaching from Siba Parida.
