Juvenile Club, Cuttack emerged champions in the 3rd Rameswar Cup U-19 Cricket Tournament, beating hosts and defending champions Rameswar Sporting by two wickets in the exciting final here at BM High School Ground, Old Town today. Anil Parida powered Juvenile to title triumph, hitting an unbeaten 121 off 108 balls.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the runners-up side Rs 10,000. Anil Parida was declared both Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament. The prizes for best batsman, best bowler and best wicketkeeper went to Binit Mohanty, Tofan Gouda and Krushna Chandra Barik respectively.
Former minister Ashok Chandra Panda was the chief guest at the presentation ceremony. Former city mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Rameswar Sporting president Suresh Kumar Routray and secretary Deepak Mangaraj were present on the occasion.
