Sparkling half-century by Kajal Jena went in vain as Odisha lost to Railway by nine wickets in their Group-E match of the BCCI Women U-23 T20 League at Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground in Rajkot today. This was the second defeat in six matches for Odisha, who remained on 16 points.
Put into bat by Railway skipper Nuzhat Parween, Odisha mustered a modest total of 102 for four in the stipulated 20 overs. Opening batsman Kajal continued her superb form by scoring a 62-ball 66, which was studded with eight boundaries and one six.
But Railways overhauled to target in 18 overs, losing only one wicket in the process. V Sneha Deepthi and Nuzhat Parween remained unbeaten on 59 and 38 respectively. Odisha will play their seventh and last Group-E league match against Pondicherry at SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground in Rajkot on January 24.
