Jr Natl Athletics: Odisha bag four medals

A 16-member Odisha state squad won one silver and three bronze medals in the 34th National Junior Athletics Championship, which was held at Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Ranchi (Jharkhand) from November 2 to 5, 2018.

The lone silver medal was grabbed by international hurdler Pragyan Prasanti Sahu. She achieved it in U-20 girls 100m hurdles event, clocking 0:14.68. Out of Odisha’s three bronze medals, two were claimed by Manisha Merel in women U-18 long jump (5.88m) and 100m sprint (12.56s). The other bronze medal was secured by Dhanmati Xess in U-18 girls javeline throw with an effort of 36.66 metre.
