Budding cricketers of Arunachal Pradesh stand to gain a lot on fitness with Odisha pro George Paul Robinson today joining their state U-16 team as trainer for the season 2018-19. He has been appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
Former player for leading Bhubaneswar cricket club, Rameswar Sporting, Robinson earlier worked as trainer of Odisha, Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Tripura state cricket teams. He also has the experience of working with many eminent coaches including Michael Bevan (Australia), Waqar Younis (Pakistan), Muthiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) and VVS Laxman (India).
A dashing opening batsman and medium-pace bowler in his salad days, Robinson played domestic cricket in Odisha for 17 years. He also played League cricket in Kolkata, Chennai and Tripura. After hanging up his boots, Robinson functioned as a Faculty Member of National School of Cricket Academy, Dehradun.
