Local giants Sahid Sporting will meet Biswabharati Club, Cuttack in the final of the 2nd Ashok Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at the TTI ground here on March 23.
In the second semifinal on Friday, Sahid Sporting rode on a half-century by Debraj Kar to thrash Mangala Club by nine wickets. Former India swing bowler Debasis Mohanty handed over the man of the match award to Kar, who scored 59 off 44 balls. The tournament is being organised by Laxmisagar Cricket Club.
Brief scores: Mangala Club 130/9 in 20 overs (Sabyasachi Acharya 36; Bharat Das 3 wkts, Suryakanta Das 2 wkts) lost to Sahid Sporting 134/1 in 17.1 overs (Debraj Kar 59, Dipti Mishra 42).
