Odisha boy Rabi Narayan Sahoo was crowned singles champion in the Gurukul-AITA-OTA U-14 Talent Series Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Gurukul Resort, Mendhashal, near here today. Unseeded Rabi beat third seed Vayam Krishna in the final 6-2, 6-1. The title winner gathered 15 AITA ranking points and the runner-up 12 points.
Earlier yesterday, Odisha pair of Kaamlesh Rath and Debasis Sahoo won the boys’ doubles title, defeating West Bengal combination of Vayam Krishna and Shagnik Bose in the final by 2-1 sets. Debasis, however, crashed out in singles semifinals, losing to unseeded statemate Rabi Narayan Sahoo in straight sets.
