Cuttack-A, Bhubaneswar-A, Keonjhar and Bhubaneswar-B won both of respective super league matches to qualify for the semifinals of the Kalahandi Cup Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament here today. In the semifinals on June 13, Cuttack-A will meet Bhubaneswar-B and Bhubaneswar-A will face Keonjhar.
In the last round of super league matches, Cuttack-A rode on a century by Rajesh Dhuper and a six-wicket haul by Biplab Samantaray to outplay Balasore by 142 runs, while Bhubaneswar-A drubbed Routkela by 103 runs, thanks to fine all-round performance by Santanu Mishra, who scored 78 runs and picked up three wickets.
A captain’s knock of 102 by Subhranshu Senapati, his second century in a row, helped Keonjhar post a thrilling one-run win over Cuttack-B. Though East Coast Railway prevailed over Khurda by 96 runs, it was not enough to fetch them a ticket for the semifinals.
