Rameswar Sporting-A emerged champions in the 2nd Rameswar Cup Under-19 Cricket Tournament, defeating Paramount Sporting by 23 runs in the final here at BM High School Ground in Old Town today. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the runners-up team Rs 10,000.
Ayush Raj Choudhry of Paramount Sporting was adjudged man of the tournament, while his teammates
Aniket Tripathy and Krushna Chandra Barik were declared as best bowler and best fielder respectively. The prize for best batsman went to Kunal Mallick of Rameswar Sporting-A.
Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda handed over the trophy in the presence of Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, former Odisha Ranji team captain Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Odisha Cricket Association CEO Bidyut Kumar Nayak, Bhubaneswar Athletic Association secretary Sourya Ranjan Parija, host Rameswar Sporting Club president Suresh Kumar Routaray and secretary Deepak Mangaraj.
As many as 14 teams are participating in the tournament, which was inaugurated by Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and former India swing bowler Debasis Mohanty in the presence of Rameswar Sporting Club secretary Deepak Mangaraj.
