Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad emerged champions in the 11th KIIT Premier League All-India Inter-University Cricket Tournament, defeating Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada in the all-JNTU final by nine wickets here at KIIT Cricket Stadium today.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and the runners-up Rs 1 lakh. Al-Falah University, Faridabad finished third with a 40-run win over PD DAV, New Delhi. Olywood actor Anuvab Mohanty, KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta handed over the trophy and prizes in the closing function. The tournament was earlier inaugurated by former India opening batsman Aakash Chopra.
