A new opportunity was created today for Odisha football as State Government launched a 20-member team, named Sports Hostel Odisha (SHO) for the U-15 Youth-League, a part of the I-League, which is being run by All India Football Federation (AIFF). State Sports & Youth Services Director Vineel Krishna unveiled the SHO team jersy on the occasion at Kalinga Stadium here. However, the plan to form a government-sponsored team for Y-League was revealed just two days before the start of the competition.
SHO would compete with four other teams in Group C of the Rest of India Zone. Group C would feature a total of 10 matches, scheduled to take place at DSK Dream City Football Field in Pune from December 16 to 24. SHO would play their first match against Fateh Hyderabad AFC on Dec 18. It would be followed by games against Anantapur Sports Academy, Tata Football Academy and DSK Shivajians.
