Olympic Champions Argentina and title contenders Germany completed the semifinal line-up of the Men’s Hockey World League Finals, defeating England 3-2 and Netherlands 7-6 in the last two quarterfinals here at Kalinga Hockey Stadium today.
The last quarterfinal witnessed a nail-biting finish with Germany emerging winners via penalty shoot out. Argentina striker Lucas Vila made his 200th senior international appearance in the quarterfinal against England. In the semifinals, Argentina will meet Asia Cup champions India tomorrow and Germany will take on title holders Australia day after tomorrow.

Shootout: Mats Grambusch, Marco Miltkau, Dieter Linnekogel, Christopher Ruhr) beat Netherlands (Mirco Pruijser 21-FG, 60-FG; Bjorn Kellerman 27-FG. Shoot out: Mirco Pruijser, Seve van Ass, Tobias Walter) 7-6, via penalty shootout (Full time 3-3). PoM: Florian Fuchs (Germany). JPoM: Joep de Mol (Netherlands).
