Riding on a half-century by Kajal Jena and notable contributions by all other batsmen Odisha trounced Tripura by 127 runs in their opening match of the East Zone U-19 Women’s One-day league match at JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi today.
Electing to bat, Odisha mustered a healthy total of 218 for three in 50 overs and then bundled out Tripura for 91 in 46 overs. Rasmita Chinhara and Kajal Jena gave Odisha a flying start, putting on 85 runs for the opening wicket. Chinhara was second highest scorer for the team with 47 runs. Among successful Odisha bowlers, Subhra Nirjharini Swain and Kalpana Nayak picked up two wickets each.
