Bengal crushed Odisha by 10 wickets in their Vinoo Mankad Trophy East Zone One-day league match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Jealgora, Dhanbad today. The thumping win fetched Bengal four points while Odisha drew blank.
Opting to bat after Swastik Samal won the toss, Odisha were skittled out for a paltry 75 in 39.3 overs. Only three batsmen were able to get to double digits. Among them Kshyama Sagar Bal was the top scorer with 24 runs. Abhijit did maximum damage to the Odisha innings, taking five wickets for four runs.
In reply, Bengal overhauled the target in 14.4 overs without losing any wicket. Sourav Paul was instrumental in the Bengal chase, hitting an unbeaten 56 off 57 balls. This was the third defeat in a row for Odisha, who will play their remaining two league matches against Affiliate & Associate Team tomorrow and Assam the next day.
