KISS, Sainik School march into MCL Cup semifinals

Former champions Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and Sainik School entered the semifinals of the MCL Cup 29th Bhubaneswar Inter-School Football Tournament, defeating BJEM School 3-0 and Capital High School 2-0 respectively here at Unit-VI Boys’ High School Ground today.  The two victorious side will meet each other in the first semifinal on August 30.

Sushant Tudu was the chief architect of the KISS win, scoring the first and third goal in the 19th and 44th minutes. The second goal was netted by Dolamani Dharua in the 22nd minute. Tudu was adjudged the player of the match and he received the prize from host Unit-VI Athletic Assocition vice-president Akshyay Kumar Das.

Later in the day, Binay Hial and Mrutyujeet Das struck in the 10th and 22nd minutes respectively to enable Sainik School lead 2-0 at the half-time. Though Capital High School put up much improved performace in the second half, a goal eluded them on three occasions.
