Paresh Kumar Sarangi and Lipsa Sethi won the senior men’s and women’s titles in the point-22 bore 50 metre rifle prone (open sight) category on the second day of the 6th State Shooting Championship here at Kalinga Stadium Shooting Range here today. The junior men and women titles in the same event were bagged by Taranisen Dharua and Priyadarshini Bisoi respectively.
Acharya Chinmaya Mishra and Gouri Mohanty claimed the titles in men and women 25m pistol event respectively. According to a press release by Odisha Rifle Association, around 200 competitors from different districts have joined the championship, which is being supervised by National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) jury and coach Amitav Chatterjee. Earlier, the four-day championship was inaugurated by State Sports & Youth Services Department Secretary Vishal Dev.

50m Rifle Prone (Open sight): Senior men: 1. Paresh Kumar Sarangi, 2. Dr Krushna Chandra Sahu, 3. Pradosh Kumar Jena. Senior women: 1. Lipsa Sethi, 2. Priyanka Murmu, 3. Gouri Mohanty. Junior men: 1. Taranisen Dharua, 2. Satyabrata Beura, 3. Dipti Sekhar Kishan. Junior women: 1. Priyadarshini Bhoi, 2. Stithaprajna Ray, 3. Bijaylaxmi Pradhan. Veteran men: 1. Lakshmi Narayan Das Chaudhury, 2. Bhagaban Behera, 3. Binaya Biswas.
25m Pistol: Senior men: 1. Acharya Chinmaya Mishra, 2. Smaran Shankar Mishra, 3. Himanshu Sekhar Mohanty. Senior women: 1. Gouri Mohanty, 2. Anupama Swain. Veteran men: 1. Pradyumna Pradhan, 2. Dilip Jee.
