A 19-membber Odisha squad won the team title with a rich haul of nine medals in the 7th Eastern India Body-Building & Women Fitness Championship, held at Nagaon, Assam on Jan 7 and 8, 2017. The medals included four gold, one silver and four bronze.
The gold medals were bagged by S Krishna Rao (55kg), Satya Ranjan Behera (75kg), Sujit Jena (85kg) and Debasish Dutta (above 85kg). Satish Hooda pocketed the lone silver medal, while the four bronze medals were claimed by Master Miran, Biswanath Ray, Debakanta Sahoo and Subhrajeet Bahinipati. The squad was accompanied by coach Babuli Swain; judges Prasanna Mahasuara and Bhabani Shankar Sahoo.
