Unfancied Goa stunned Odisha by 41 runs in their opening match of the Senior Women Elite Group-B League at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur today. Put into bat by Odisha captain Madhusmita Behera, Goa made 100 for eight in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Odisha could muster 59 runs, losing eight wickets in the process.
Among Odisha batters, only Madhuri Meheta and Madhusmita Behera could reached double figures. The win fetched Goa four points, while Odisha drew blank. Odisha will play their second match against Madhya Pradesh tomorrow.
