East Coast Railway emerged champions in the E-League Cricket Tournament, defeating Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) by 58 runs in the final at IMMT Ground here today. Earlier in the semifinals, BSNL beat AG Recreation Club by eight runs, while East Coast Railway defeated Odisha Greens in the first semifinal by six wickets.
Employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) organised the tournament from December 17, 2016. IMMT Principal Scientists Dr S K Singh and Dr Bankim Tripathy handed over the trophy and prizes at the closing ceremony.
This edition of the E-League was comprised of two separate competitions namely E-League and E-League Challenger Series. Challenger Series, involving five teams, was played in a 20-20 format. E-League, featuring six teams, took place in a 40-overs format.
