CUTTACK 30-Nov-2016
A brilliant century by Amrit Khatua and a career-best haul of seven-wicket haul by pace bowler Preet Kanwar Singh Chohan powered host Odisha to an innings and 48-run win over Chhattisgarh on the penultimate day of their four-day Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 Group-C match here at Ravenshaw University Ground today.
Trailing by 150 runs in the first innings, Chhattisgarh were bowled out for 102 in the second essay to lose the match with more than a day to spare. Bhubaneswar lad Chohan, who picked up two wickets in the first innings, finished with a match haul of nine for 64. He formed a deadly combination with fellow pacer Umesh Yadav, who returned with a match haul of five for 83.
This was the first win in three matches for Odisha, who gained seven points and increased their tally to eight points. They will next meet Baroda at home venue from December 5 to 8.
