Odisha duo Abhishek Mohapatra and D Aryan Swamy added one more trophy to respective cabinet by emerging under-14 boys doubles champion in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament at Yuva Bharati Krirangan, Salt Lake Kolkata today.
Trainees of Bhubaneswar-based Farhan Ali Tennis Academy, Abhishek and Aryan defeated top seed Amaan Wasim and Anurag Kedia of West Bengal in the final 6-3, 6-2. This was the second title triumph within a week for the two boys, who had captured the earlier one at DKS Club in Kolkata on October 21.
This was also the ninth overall AITA career title for Abhishek, featuring seven in doubles and two in singles. As for Aryan, this was his third overall AITA career crown and all three have come in doubles.
