A five-wicket haul by off-spinner Rasanara Parwin guided host Odisha to a 11-run win over Tamil Nadu in their second round match of the Senior Women Plate-B One-day League at Sunshine Ground here today. The fighting win fetched Odisha four points, while Tamil Nadu drew blank.
Odisha now have six points from two matches and they will next meet Uttar Pradesh at Nimpur Ground here on October 8. Earlier, Odisha secured two points from their opening match Bengal as the game was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain at Sunshine ground here.
Three players put up impressive performance for Odisha against Tamil Nadu today. Off-spinner Rasanara Parwin was the best among the lot, bagging five wickets for 36 runs. Batting first, Odisha were in trouble losing six wickets for 78 runs before a responsible knock of 33 by Sushree Dibyadarshini Pradhan and an unbeaten 29 by Ritu Singh enabled them make a modest total of 135. In reply, Tamil Nadu were bowled out for 124. Bengal beat Team Rajasthan by 36 runs in another match of the day at Nimpur Ground here.
