Seats to be numbered for Jan 19 Cuttack ODI

Seats of all the galleries will be numbered for the India-England 2nd One Day International (ODI), scheduled to be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack next year on January 19. This was decided in a meeting, involving officials of England Cricket Board (ECB), Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and the authorities of Commissionerate Police here today.

According to OCA secretary Asirbad Behera, the seating capacity of Barabati Stadium will be reduced from 45,000 to 41,000 due to numbering of seats. It was also decided to prohibit water bottles in the galleries, increase the height of the net-fence between galleries and the playing area and incorporate more areas under the CCTV camera surveillance during the match.

A three-member ECB team, consisting of John Donald Carr, Anthony Eatherdale and Reginald Clyde Dicason came to Bhubaneswar to take stock of the security arrangements for the ensuing ODI. They were accompanied by BCCI Assistant General Manager KVP Rao; OCA treasurer Satya Mohanty, joint-secretary Sanjib Dutta and council member Rabindra Kumar Parida.

Before meeting Twin City Commissioner Y B Khurania along with DCPs of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar The ECB delegates also interacted with Hotel Mayfair vice-president Soubhagya Mohapatra regarding accommodation of the England cricket team.
