Rameswar Sporting Club emerged champions in the 23rd Laxmi Narayan Cup Inter-Club Cricket Tournament, trouncing Paramount Sportings by eight wickets in the all-Bhubaneswar final at Rajkishor Bidyapitha ground in Jagatpur, Cuttack today.
Choudwar-Cuttack MLA, Prabhat Biswal graced the presentation ceremony as the chief guest and handed over the trophy. Host Jay Maa Mangala Club office-bearers were present on the occasion. Kartik Biswal, the young all rounder from Paramount Sporting, bagged the award as player of the tournament.
RESULTS:
June 8 (Final): Paramount Sportings 134/7 in 20 overs (Abhay Mallick 32, Lalit Mohan Ojha 21; Paresh Patel, Rakesh Mohanty 2 wkts each) lost to Rameswar Sporting 135/2 in 15 overs (Biswajit Bhuyan 58 n.o, Prasanta Bhoi 30) by 8 wkts. Man of the match: Biswajit Bhuyan.
June 1 (Match No 1): Trident Club 135/9 in 16 overs (Sandeep Sethi 55, Salman Khan 29; Manas Mohapatra 5 wkts) lost to Pragati Sporting 139/6 (Amlan Sukumar Barik 30, Rathunath Malla 29) by 4 wkts. MoM: Manas Mohapatra.
