Hockey Odisha finish 4th in Junior Women National-A

Hockey Odisha finished fourth in the Hockey 6th India Junior Women National Championship (Division-A) when they lost to host Jharkhand 1-3 in the play-off match at Ranchi today. Hockey Punjab emerged champions, defeating Hockey Haryana in the final 4-0.

In the semifinals, Hockey Haryana eliminated Hockey Odisha 5-1, while Hockey Punjab crushed Hockey Jharkhand 7-1. Earlier, Hockey Odisha won all three of their league matches in Pool-D to march into the semifinals. They beat Madhya Pradesh Hockey Acadmy 3-1, Delhi Hockey 4-1 and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 6-2.

May 5: Hockey Odisha (Elima Minz 14th, 22nd, 52nd; Mariana Kujur 27th, 57th, 68th) beat Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu  (49 th, 62 nd) 6-2.
May 7 (SF): Hockey Haryana beat Hockey Odisha 5-1.
May 8 (For 3rd place): Hockey Jharkhand beat Hockey Odisha (Elima Minz 5th) 3-1.
