Juvenile Club, Cuttack, lifted the trophy in the 1 st Prahallad Biswal Memorial Under-16 Cricket Tournament, defeating local outfit Paramount Sporting in the final by two wickets here at Saheed Sporting Ground today. Champion Juvenile Club pocketed the top prize of Rs 20,0000 and runners-up Paramount became richer by Rs 15,000.
The trophy and prizes were presented by local corporator Saswati Mishra, tournament sponsor and Lifestyle Properties MD Partha Biswal and former Ranji Trophy players Rashmi Ranjan Parida and P Jayachandra. Host Saheed Sporting Club secretary Pankaj Patnaik was present on the occasion. A total of 12 teams from twin city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar participated in the tournament, which was inaugurated by Bhubaneswar Central MLA Bijay Kumar Mohanty, in the presence of former Odisha cricketer Sritam Das.
