Ravenshaw Collegiate School (RCS) emerged champions in the Inter-School Knock-out Cricket Tournament, trouncing Peary Mohan Academy 10 wickets in the final here at Ravenshaw University Ground-I today. Sai Prasad Acharya starred in the RCS triumph, scoring 83 runs (82b, 11x4, 1x6) and picking up three wickets without conceding any run. Champion Ravenshaw Collegiate School received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and runners-up P M Academy were given Rs 5,000.
Earlier in the semifinals, Ravenshaw Collegiate School outplayed Cambridge School by 54 runs, while Peary Mohan Academy prevailed over Jobra Municipal High School by two wickets. Altogether 10 affiliated schools participated in this tournament, which was organised by Odisha Cricket Association from April 6. The nine matches of the tournament produced three fifties and four hauls of four or more wickets in an innings. Ravenshaw University Registrar Dr Kishore Kumar Das graced the presentation ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophy.
