Sunrise Sports Club emerged champions in the 12th All India Biju Patnaik Football Tournament, defeating Kakuragachi Athletic Association, Kolkata 4-3 in the keenly-contested final, via penalty shoot out at Ispat Stadium here today.
Sunrise custodian Pravat Kisku made made brilliant save in the shoot out to be adjudged as the man of the final. Rourkela Steel Plant Executive Director Prabhat Kumar Pradhan handed over the trophy and cash prizes at the closing ceremony. The champion team received Rs 50,000 and the runners-up side Rs 30,000.

Feb 29 (QF): Town Club, Guwahati (S Sharukh 50th, 89th) beat United Club, Rourkela 2-0.
March 1 (QF): Kakuragachi Athletic Association, Kolkata (Vicky Mandal 62nd, M Sidhiki 80th) beat Yazdani Club-73 (Sashi Tapno 84th) 2-1.
March 2 (1st SF): Kakuragachi Athletic Association beat Town Club, Guwahati 3-1 in tie-breaker (Full time: 0-0).
March 3 (QF): Sunrise Sports Club (Bosen Murmu 50th, Azad Ali 67th) beat FOA Academy, Cuttack 2-0.
March 4 (QF): South Eastern Central Railway, Nagpur (Aqib 7th, 87th; Paresh 21st, Ayad 61st) beat ACB 4-0.
March 5 (2nd SF): Sunrise Sports Club (Saswat Bisi 15th) beat South Eastern Central Railway 1-0.
March 6 (Final): Sunrise Sports Club beat Kakuragachi Athletic Association 4-3 in penalty shoot out (Full time: 0-0).
