Odia shooters Nigam Parida and Shriyanka Sadangi captured one silver medal each in the ongoing XVI Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship at Trivandrum. Parida, who was representing Indian Navy, scored 618.9 points out of 654 to make it to the final in men’s 10 metre air rifle event yesterday.
Turning out for ONGC, Shriyanka narrowly missed the gold medal in the shoot off as she scored 414.2 points out of 436 in women’s 10 meter air rifle event today.
This was the fourth medal of the year for Sambalpur lass Shriyanka, who won two silver and one bronze at the Inter Shoot 2016 international Shooting Championship at Hague, Netherlands earlier this month.
Debasish Rout, another shooter from Odisha, qualified for the trial, scoring 610 points out of 654. Odisha Rifle Association congratulated the three shooters for their success.
