With podium finish in three successive tournaments, Indian hockey is experiencing a renaissance, feels Dilip Tirkey, former captain and the most experienced player of the team.
``Bronze medals in Sultan Azlan Shah (Malaysia) and Champions Challenge Tournament (Begium) followed by the gold in the Asia Cup (Chennai) have helped Indian hockey overcome its gloomy days. The team is now experiencing a renaissance and hopes regain its old glory in the near future,`` said Tirkey on his arrival in Bhubaneswar today.
Lauding the role coach Carvalho, Tirkey said: ``He is a coach, who believes in his work ethics. The success in three back-to-back tournaments speak volumes about how good he is.``
