Rayudu Warriors lifted the trophy in the All-Odisha Yuva Open Basketball Tournament, defeating Trotters 72-64 in the final at IMPA Park basketball court here today. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 21,000 and the runners-up Rs 10,000.
The four-day tournament was organised by Yuva Basketball Club (YBC). Parliament Member Baijayanta Panda handed over the trophy in the presence of State Sports Minster Sudam Marndi, local MLAs Priyadarshi Mishra, Bijaya Kumar Mohanty, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and YBC chief advisor Saroj Kumar Patra.
Two sportspersons _ Pragyan Paramita Garabadu (Rugby), Sambit Panda (Chess) _ and refree Susil Kumar Dash were felicitated on the occasion.
RESULTS:
Match No (Quarterfinal): Rayudu Warriors (K Sravan Kumar 18) beat Mother Basketball Club 58-30.
Match No (Quarterfinal): Trotters (Ashad Khan 27) beat Bhubaneswar Sports Hostel 72-49.
Match No (Quarterfinal): Shinning Star (Soumya Rath 27) beat Yuva Basketball Club 60-35.
Match No (Semifinal): Rayudu Warriors beat Shining Star 78-63.
Match No (Semifinal): Trotters beat Basketball Association 72-49
Match No (For 3rd place): Kalinga Basketball Association beat Shining Star 58-40.
Match No (Final): Rayudu Warriors beat Trotters 72-64.
