Host Odisha suffered fourth successive defeat in Group D League of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament when they lost to Services by four wickets at DRIEMS Ground in Tangi today. This was the second win for Services.
Put into bat, Odisha mustered a healthy total of 176 for four. Abhishek Yadav hit a 33-ball 52 to register his maiden T20 half-century for Odisha. Captain Govind Poddar, allrounder Biplab Samantray and makeshief opener Abhilash Mallick also made notable contributions.
But Odisha bowlers failed to capitalise on the good performance of their batsmen as Services overhauled the target with four balls to spare thanks to a half-century by Nakul Verma. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra posted wins in two more matches of the day.
