Annual General Council Meeting of Odisha State Judo Association (OSJA) was held at Bhubaneswar Club on January 3, 2016. Elections of office-bearers for a four-year term (2015-2019) was held on the occasion. Retired IAS officer Priyabrat Pattnik and Sudeep Das retained their posts as president and vice- president respectively.
In a major chance, Purna Chandra Mishra was elected as the new general secretary of the state body, replacing Gitanjali Panda, who was appointed as the technical chairman and chief executive officer (CEO). Also nominated were Deepankar Das as joint-secretary, Kandan Murmu as technical secretary and Manas Das as new treasurer.
Ashok Chinchela (Auditor), Prabin Kumar Batra, Dr Siddharth Mohanty, Runa Panda, Sradhanjali Panda, Choudhury Pravash Ranjan Dash and Priyadarshi Mohapatra were nominated as executive committee members.
Sports journalist Suresh Swain from Bhubaneswar and Manisha Pattnaik from Ganjam district were nominated as members of General Council. As many as 15 members from 17 affiliated districts of OSJA participated in the General Council meeting along with all the office-bearers of the state body.
