Odisha girl Rituparna Choudhury won the under-14 singles title in the AITA Super Series Tournament, which concluded at Bengal Tennis Academy in Kolkata today. Third seed Rutuparna beat fourth seed Ashrita Nagpal of Karnataka in the hard-fought final 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
The win helped Rutuparna gain 50 ranking points. Earlier in the semifinals, she thrashed second seed Rachana Reddy (AP) 6-2, 6-3. This was the 13th singles and 21st overall AITA title for Bhubaneswar girls Rutuparna, who is a student of KIIT International School. She is now occupying the 25th position in the AITA U-14 girls ranking list.
