Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) lifted the MCL Cup by emerging champions in the 14th VCAO Bhubaneswar Inter-School Cricket Tournament today. KISS beat DAV School (Chandrasekharpur) in the final by 90 runs here at BJB College ground.
KISS allrounder Amod Majhi pocketed the prize as player of the match, scoring a half-century and picked two wickets. His teammate Sushant Majhi, who top scored in the final with 79 runs, was adjudged the player of the tournament.
Prizes for best batsman, best bowler, best wicketkeeper, best fielder and most promising player were claimed by Subham Satrujeet (Prabhujee EMS), Minal Parida (BJEMS), Shreemoy Nayak (DAV, CSPur), A Samantaray (Mother`s Public) and Swagat Panda (St Xavier`s, KGouri).
Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) Chief Manager (HR) Surjya Kumar Sadangi handed over the trophy at the closing function. Altogether 26 teams have joined the tournament, which was organised by Veterans Cricket Association of Odisha (VCAO).
