Host Odisha came from behind to trounce Group-A table toppers Assam by eight wickets on the penultimate day of third-round Ranji Trophy match here at Barabati Stadium today. This was the first win in three matches for Odisha and they gained six points to increase their total to eight.
Four players made notable contributions in the Odisha win. They were pace spearhead Basant Mohanty, his ancillary Suryakant Pradhan, vice-captain Govinda Poddar and Anurag Sarangi. Mohanty bagged a total of eight wickets, including five for 24 in the first innings to be adjudged the man of the match.
