Poonam Youth Welfare Organisation (PYWO) organised a workshop for young hockey umpires at Satyabrata Stadium in Cuttack on Saturday. Hockey India technical staff member Biswa Ranjan Sarangi imparted training and guidance on various aspects of umpiring, while former national level player and coach Gyanesh Kanungo shared his views on officiating.
Junior umpires Biswajit Maharana, Deepak Behera, Prasanna Behera, Bharat Bhusan Sethy, Tapan Sethy and Chiranjibi Pati were present in the workshop.
``This is going to be a regular feature for next two months to produce good umpires from Odisha,`` said Kanungo.
