Giridharijew Vidya Mandir (GVM), Holipur, won the Subhendu Patra Memorial Cuttack School Hockey League, defeating Odisha Police High School (OPHS) 3-0 in the final at Satyabrata Stadium here today. Scorers were Soumyajit Samal, Sashikanta Mohanty and Susanta Behera.
Suraj Sahoo (OPHS) and Soumyajit Samal (GVM) were adjudged tournament`s best forward and best scorer respectively. The tournament was organised by Poonam Youth Welfare Organisation (PYWO) in association with Krida Bharati.
Preetilata Patra, wife of Late Subhendu Patra, handed over the trophy and prizes at the closing function. Cuttack District Sports Officer Rashmi Ranjan Samantaray and PYWO coach as well as former Odisha player Gyanesh Kanungo were present on the occasion.
