Local tribal school Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) lifted the MCL Cup, outplaying six-time champions Sainik School 3-1 in the final of the 26th Bhubaneswar Inter-School Football Tournament here at Unit-VI Boys High School ground today. KISS completed a hat-trick in the process by winning the tournament for the third year on the trot.
Dillip Murmu scored the first two goals for the winners in the fifth and 15th minutes to bag the prize as man of the tournament. His teammate Sana Marandi capped the emphatic win, netting the third goal in the 44th minute. He pocketed the prize as man of the final match. Ashok Jena pulled one back for Sainik School in the 27th minute.
Arijit Mohanty (Vikash Residential School), Pritesh Pradhan (Sainik School), Sunil Murmu (KISS) and Santosh Behera (Sainik School) were adjudged the best goalkeeper, best defender, best mid-fielder and best forward in the order.
