Amrutanshu Mohapatra of DAV School (Unit-VIII) emerged champion in the 29th Bhubaneswar Schools Open Chess Tournament, which concluded here at Odisha Secretariat Recreation Club today. In the eight-round tournament, organised by Bhubaneswar Chess Association (BCA), Amrutanshu scored full eight points, winning all his games, while Diptimayee Sahoo (Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir) and Yashaswini Sarangi (Delhi Public School) finished second and third with seven and 6.5 points respectively.
BCA working president Smruti Ranjan Das handed over the prizes in the closing function.
