The 26th Odisha State Powerlifting Championship concluded here at Utkal Karate School today after producing a whopping 74 new records, including 49 by women. Khurda powerlifters maintained their supremacy by retaining the overall champions trophy, while Mayurbhanj finished runners-up.
Pradeep Kumar Patra of Khurda and Devi Singh of Mayurbhanj bagged the coveted trophies as the Strongman and Strongwomen of Odisha for the fifth and third successive time respectively. Over 300 competitors, including 52 women, from 14 districts participated in the three-day championship.
