Pricila Baxla made Odisha proud by winning one bronze medal in the 21st Junior Asian Rowing Championship, held at Wuhan in China from July 4 to 7. A trainee of Jagatpur-based SAI Watersports Centre, Pricila was a member of the Indian team that finished third in the junior women coxless four event.
Other three members of the team included Nafisa Sadiq, Keerthana Tharuvara Kallotti and Reena Kumari. Pricila was the only rower from Odisha in the 12-member Indian team that participated in the four-day championship.
This was the first international medal for Pricila, who has been honing her skills under the tutelage of SAI coach Jose Jacob.
