Two players from Odisha have been selected to represent different teams in the Women Challenger Trophy Tournament to be played at Mysore from June 14 to 17, 2015. Madhusmita Behera and Sushree Pradhan are the two from Odisha who have been included in the India Red and India Green (Under-19) teams respectively.
Surprisingly Madhuri Meheta, Rasanara Parwin and Swagatika Rath, the three internationals from the state failed to find a berth in any of the teams for the Challenger Trophy. The Challenger Trophy is being arranged in preparation for New Zealand’s tour of India in June-July 2015.
INDIA RED: Smriti Mandhana (Captain), Shikha Pandey, Poonam Raut, Latika Kumari, Sneha Morey, Madhusmita Behera, Kalpana R, Sneh Rana, Meghna S, Snehal Pradhan, S Shubhlakshmi, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav.
INDIA BLUE: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Thirushkamini MD, Paramita Roy, Veda Krishnamurthy, Sarika Kohli, Rakshita K Kalegowda, Sushma Verma, Anuja Patil, Niranjana Nagarajan, Ananya Upendran, Kavita Patil, Ekta Bisht, Preeti Bose.
INDIA GREEN (Under-19): Devika Vaidya (Captain), Deepti Sharma, Priya Punia, Divya Gnananand, Ramya Doli, Pushpa Kiresur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Ekta Singh, Tejal Hasabnis, Saika Ishaque, Pooja, Vastrakar, Sushree Pradhan, Tania Bhatia.
