Hockey Odisha`s campaign in the 5th Senior Women National Championship (Division A) ended on a winning note when they blanked Hockey Maharashtra 5-0 at Saifai in Uttar Pradesh today. This was the second win in three matches for Odisha women, who, however, bowed out of the championship, finishing second in Pool A.
Railway Sports Promotion Board emerged pool toppers with three wins. They whitewashed Delhi Hockey 11-0 earlier in the day to advance to the semifinals.
Earlier in their first two pool matches, Hockey Odisha lost to Railway 10-0 and then demolished Delhi 8-0. Interestingly in the opening match, Odisha`s four international players in the railway side scored against their home state.

April 26: Railway (Anuradha Devi 12-FG, 33-FG, 36-FG, 58-FG, Navjot Kaur 3-FT, Soundaraya Yendala 5-FG, Punam Barla 10-FT, Lilima Minz 29-FT, Anupa Barla 42-FG, Sunita Lakra 50-PC) beat Hockey Odisha 10-0.
April 27: Pool A Hockey Odisha (Birajini Ekka 12-FG, 32-FG, 42-FG; Nilprojita Majhi 15-FG, 53-PC; Jira Ekka 19-PC, Ambika Toppo 29-PC, Sarojini Ekka 46-FG) beat Delhi Hockey 8-0.
April 29: Hockey Odisha (Nilprojita Majhi 5-FG, Dipti Lakra 36-PC, Khusbu Kujur 50-PC, Seema Lakra 56-FG, Jira Ekka 59-PC) beat Hockey Maharashtra 5-0.
