Local favourite Manas Ranjan Parida won the title in the 10th All-Odisha Open Chess Tournament, which concluded here at Secretariat Recreation Club today. Top seed Parida maintained his winning run till the end to finish with eight full eight points.
Prakash Chandra Sahoo and Santosh Kumar Sinha finished second and third with 7.5 and seven points respectively. Organized by Odisha Secretariat Recreation Club, the three-day tournament, carried a total prize fund of Rs 31,000, including Rs 5,000 for the champion. Altogether 101 players from 15 districts participated in the nine-round tournament.
FINAL STANDINGS: 1. Manas Ranjan Parida (8), 2. Prakash Ch Sahoo (7.5), 3. Santosh Ku Sinha (7), 4. Aditya Pattnaik (7), 5. Sailendranath Rout (7), 6. N Sundar Rajan (7), 7. Bira Kishore Behera (6.5), 8. Sahadev Khatei (6.5), 9. Prabhat Kumar Ojha (6.5), 10. Tukuna Kandi (6.5).
