Pravesh Sini and Sukumati Laguri emerged winners in male and female category respectively in the 10 km category of the Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Run-a-thon, the first professional run of the city organised by the steel major here today.
The winners received cash prizes of Rs 51,000 each. A whopping 3,144 competitors joined the event, which was conducted in five categories for male and female. The run was flagged off from Kalinga Stadium and ended at the same venue via Chandrasekharpur.
For the first time in the state, runners were given smart RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips to track their performance and location. Winners of the 7km run in corporate and institution category received Rs 15,000 each.
